It never occurred to me that you can taper a tie. I read a few of your posts on your site and now I am enlightened. I have a few in my closet that I never wear 'cause they are super wide. Lol, my closet thanks you.
Dope! I’ve been really slacking lately on the main website. A lot of positive life changes recently, but in the next few weeks, there will be some updates. Thanks for checking it out, and take those ties in! Literally and figuratively.
A few weeks ago I had the very great pleasure of meeting Styleforum Member Butler on Savile Row and be allowed to accompany him to fittings at Master Tailor Steven Hitchcock and esteemed shirt maker Sean O’Flynn.
Most of us are grown-ups here. Most of us don’t like to be spoken down to. Most of us (still) have a lot to learn…and those among us that don’t think they do are likely fools.
That said, no one here is looking for a father figure. All of this posturing, and pretense of authority. All of this doling out of dos and don’ts…as if we aren’t fallible men who are plagued daily with our own measure of imperfections. It’s disingenuous. It rings hollow. And it’s unnecessary.
Do less telling. Do more showing. If people are inspired by what they see, then so be it. But please, climb off the high horse. You aren’t walking on water or parting any seas.
"Culture shock at babershops cause I ain’t hood enough / We all look the same to the cops, ain’t that good enough" - "Hold You Down" by Childish Gambino. I easily could have written that line. a hip hop album I can really relate too. The barbershop is how I got put on to new hip hop. Thanks for making this album.
