Yes, I got them tapered. They are Levi’s 501’s. I got them done at Sid Mashburn here in Atlanta. I was inspired one day when I walked in an he had them on. He’s also been photographed in them, and Fred over at UnabashedlyPrep.com, also got his pair from there.
Love the blog. Curious as to why you use both a tailor and a seamstress? Also, if you know, would you be willing to recommend any place to get alterations in LA?
I use a tailor mostly for more complex tasks that would take an understanding of how things suits are constructed. So he mostly does my blazers.
My seamstress does my dress shirts, hems, and taking in the waist of my pants. These tend to be a lot less of a tedious task than say, slimming down the sleeve of a blazer, or adding functional buttonholes. Seamstress generally do not have the training or experience to handle this type of work.
