I bought this heavy wool blazer almost two years ago at the end of the season from Banana Republic. It has pretty nice detailing, pick stitched lapel and double vents.

Here in Atlanta, it only gets cold enough for about 2.5 months during the year, but since I travel to cold weather climates for work, and home to Pittsburgh, it get its fair share use. It is also very durable on flights and does not show wrinkles. I stumbled upon it while doing some shopping in my own closet. I like to do that sometimes, just go through everything just to remind myself of what is in there.
I got the sleeves slimmed, and and tapered at the waist. I will start posting the costs for the alterations too, since I always get asked the question.
Here’s an up close shot of the material since it does not come through as well in the picture. The lighting made it comes across a little brown in this photo, but it is definitely grey.
(NOTE: The sleeves in the after shot are bunched up some around the elbow, I had pulled them up slightly, they do not normally bulge like that. I just wanted to clarify that the narrowing the sleeves didn’t cause that)

I like the clothing combination, and the adjustments look solid around the arms and torso. Personally I would wear the jacket sleeves and overall lengths just a tad longer I like my wrists and backside covered:)
How do you feel about the button placement? I think it would be perfect if the top button was an inch lower…..but then this is related to the points above I guess!
Thanks for the feedback. I do prefer more cuff showing, and the oxford i’m wearing, is not long enough in the sleeves. With some of my other shirts, you would not see my wrists. I probably won’t be wearing that shirt with the blazer, I liked it at first, but then after looking at the shots, I would definitely wear another one of my shirts that hit me in the correct spot on the wrist. I see your point though, I might take the sleeves down a little bit.
In regards to the length of the jacket, I’m not sure if it’s the angle of the shot or not, I had the camera down low, but in the “before” picture, you can tell that not much is showing. I actually like the button placement on the jacket.
Thanks for providing your thoughts! I might take you up on that advice.
